Full course description
The veteran training aims to educate and inform faculty and staff about the veteran student population at UT Knoxville. We want to ensure that we empower our student veterans and service members (SVSM) by providing an environment that fosters campus success.
After completing the course, you'll be able to:
- Develop a cultural understanding among faculty and staff about the military experiences of student veterans (and employees).
- Describe unique experiences among student veterans/service members (SVSM) transitioning from military service to campus.
- Explain the potential issues students may face as service members transition from active duty to campus.
- Explain the absence policy, federal policy, and common veteran terms.
- Apply some available resources to assist student veterans and active members on or off campus.
- Time to complete: 1.5 hours
